Action for Ingwavuma is a small UK charity, at the heart of enabling women and children in a remote part of the world to be given the fighting chance they need to stabilise and survive.
To refer to this South African area as poverty stricken is a gross understatement. Plainly put, there is a lack of access to basic human needs. Families in the region surrounding the town of Ingwavuma have been decimated by the scourge of HIV and extreme poverty.
Local women’s groups produce outstanding embroidery items which we sell on their behalf in the UK. Through this and other UK fundraising, we enable access to water and food for individual families to sustain life, and provide support in education for the children, many of whom are orphans.
